Inigo Martinez aims to lead Barcelona to more Spanish Super Cup trophies after one-year contract extension.

Inigo Martinez, 33, has reveal he and his family are delight to have extended his contract with Barcelona until the summer of 2026, with the club determined to achieve further success.

The 33-year-old joined Barcelona from Athletic Bilbao on a free transfer in the summer of 2023. ‘My family and I are very happy to be at this great club for another year. I have believed in Barcelona since day one and we are looking forward to winning more trophies.’ 

‘I knew it was difficult to come here and play straight away and extending my contract was a big challenge, but with hard work and suffering I made it happen.’

“It’s great to be here for another year with this team. I’m enjoying being here and hopefully we can continue like this,” Inigo said. 

The 33-year-old defender won the Supercopa de España with Barcelona this season and remains motivated to add to his career’s tally of major trophies.

‘We are in a good position and if we keep this level, there is a very good chance of winning more trophies.’
